A short lesson about Turbo Boost

Some people find it difficult to differentiate between boost you see on a gauge.. And boost you see on the engine map and live data. So below is a brief description on how it all works...

Difference Between Gauge and Absolute Pressure Measurement. Pressure can be described as the force applied to an area. ... The simplest way to explain the difference between the two is that absolute pressure uses absolute zero as its zero point, while gauge pressure uses atmospheric pressure as its zero point.
So basically your engine ecu counts atmospheric pressure AND boost above that which you would see on a gauge. So for example if you want 2.5 bar of boost... You have to include around 1000 millibars or 1 bar of boost for atmospheric pressure on top of that. So to see 2.5 bar on a gauge you set 3.5 bar on the engine map.
Just to clear it up for those of you who find it difficult to understand
